Betting Tips UFC 148

Underdogs sometimes can give you a good payout on average depending on the situation. When the public strongly feels someone is going to win without taking certain factors into consideration then you will have an advantage on betting.

Silva - Sonnen: This is a tough one. Sonnen nearly beat Silva in their last fight but then tested positive for steroids, no wonder why Sonnen looked so good. After a 1 year ban expect Sonnen to not be on the juice anymore. If that is the case I think Silva has learned from his last fight how to handle Sonnen.

Griffin - Ortiz: Another tough call. If it was -250 for Griffin I'd say pick him for the sure shot but at -300 the price is too steep. Griffin should be able to overpower Ortiz and I wouldn't pick Ortiz unless the odds were +300.

Franklin - Le: Yet another tough fight to pick. Le nearly beat Wanderlei Silva and most of Le's fights usually see him dominating with his opponents having a tough time figuring out how to fight them. Franklin probably has the edge but at +290 for Le this is an easy pick.

Dos Santos vs Frank Mir UFC 146

Junior Dos Santos takes on challenger Frank Mir in UFC 146 in Las Vegas on Saturday May 26th. Dos Santos is the UFC heavyweight champion and was supposed to take on Alastair Overeem but Overeem "Overoids" failed a drug test for steroids and is just out of the picture completely. Who would have thought that Alaistair was on 'roids!

Frank Mir has been the champion a few times before but finally the heavyweight division is filled with decent fighters, perhaps not as good as the light heavyweight division but it is close enough. For Frank to beat Dos Santos would be a huge statement for Mir. He is somewhat lucky to have the opportunity to fight for the title but he is also a worthy challenger as well. There are other heavyweights that want a crack at the title and who knows who is going to end up with the title.

Dos Santos goes into the fight as the favourite and is considered the better striker while Mir is known better for his ground game and brazilian jiu-jitsu skills. If Mir tries to exchange boxing with Dos Santos the fight will be over very shortly and Mir is probably smart enough to know better. Expect Mir to go for take downs and submissions.
